It sounds like Pidge is having a tough time with her ear infection, and it's concerning that she's showing signs like loss of appetite, weight loss, and lethargy. These symptoms can indicate that the infection might be more severe or that there could be another underlying issue.
Firstly, it's good that she's drinking chicken broth, but try to encourage her to eat more by offering highly palatable foods like wet cat food or small amounts of cooked chicken. Sometimes warming the food slightly can make it more appealing.
Additionally, look for any other signs of discomfort or illness, such as vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in behavior. These could indicate that the infection is spreading or that there's another health issue at play.
Ensure that her ears are being cleaned properly as per the veterinarian's instructions. Sometimes, debris and discharge can hinder the effectiveness of the medication.
Keep her hydrated, especially if she's not drinking much water. The chicken broth is a good idea, but make sure it's low sodium to avoid any additional health issues.
Given that her symptoms have persisted for six days and she's showing signs of systemic illness like lethargy and weight loss, it would be best to have her re-evaluated by a veterinarian. They might need to perform additional tests or prescribe a different treatment to address the infection more effectively.
