Good morning. I just wanted to check in with you to say that it’s been 6 days since LJ potentially ate a 6 inch piece of elastic string. She is still acting fine. She does not seem to be in any pain - I press on her belly and she doesn’t react. She has not vomited and her appetite is excellent! Her stools are good too. She does seem to not be as active as usual, but she has bouts like this often. If she did eat it, I have not found it in her stool yet. I just wanted to know if I am in the clear yet from a possible obstruction? I really do appreciate all your help and advice. Thank you!

Good morning! It's wonderful to hear that LJ is still acting normally and isn't showing any signs of pain or distress. Given that it's been six days since she might have ingested the elastic string and she hasn't exhibited severe symptoms like vomiting, loss of appetite, or changes in her stool, this is indeed a positive sign. However, it's important to remain vigilant.

Elastic strings can sometimes cause issues like intestinal obstruction, which might not always present immediate symptoms. The fact that she hasn't passed the string in her stool yet is something to keep an eye on. While she seems to be doing well, the decrease in her activity could be a subtle indication that something might still be amiss.

I recommend monitoring her appetite, behavioral changes, bowel movements, etc. as you have been doing. And if you see her discomfort persisting, taking her to the hospital to determine her exact condition can be a safe option.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I sincerely hope LJ stay healthy. Thank you.
