Why are my 2 dogs licking my other dogs private area? Her last heat ended 79 days ago. Shes even licking herself occasionally(she does sometimes anyways tho) . Could she be going into heat again so soon? I know about pyrometra too but so far she’s acting normal. It dosent look red or anything.

It's quite common for dogs to engage in licking each other's private areas as part of their social interactions or grooming habits. However, if you notice that your other dogs are showing an increased interest in her private area, it might be due to a scent that is attracting them. This could be related to hormonal changes, even if she isn't currently in heat. While it's possible for dogs to experience irregular heat cycles, having another cycle just 79 days after the last one is a bit unusual.
Occasional self-licking is normal for dogs, but if you observe an increase in this behavior, it might suggest irritation or discomfort. Since you've mentioned that she is behaving normally and there are no visible signs of redness or discharge, it may not be an immediate concern. However, it's important to keep an eye on her for any changes in behavior, swelling, or discharge, as these could indicate an infection or other issues such as pyometra.
For the time being, I recommend monitoring her closely. If you notice any changes in her behavior, appetite, or if she begins to show signs of discomfort, it would be prudent to consult a veterinarian to rule out any underlying issues. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.
Is pyyrometra common 79 days later? Now I’ll be freaking out lol. Did u say they can have hormonal changes without going into heat? Last time this happened she went into heat a month later. So it would be 4 months after the last if it follows that. They haven’t been doing it since that but it has been occasionally

Pyometra is indeed a serious condition that can affect unspayed female dogs, typically occurring a few weeks to a couple of months after their heat cycle. Although 79 days is slightly longer than the usual timeframe, it's still within the realm of possibility. This condition arises due to hormonal changes following the heat cycle, which can lead to a uterine infection.
I understand your concern, but since your dog is behaving normally and there are no signs of redness or discharge, it might not be an immediate issue. It's worth noting that hormonal changes can occur even if a dog hasn't gone into heat, which might explain why other dogs are showing interest in her scent.
If your dog experiences heat cycles every four months, this could simply be her normal pattern, as some dogs do have shorter intervals between heats. I recommend keeping an eye on her for any signs of discomfort, behavioral changes, or unusual discharge. Should you notice any of these symptoms, it would be prudent to consult a veterinarian to ensure her health is not at risk.
Okay! When you say hormonal changes can happen even when not in heat is that in general or for just an infection? Thank you

This is a natural part of their reproductive cycle. After a heat cycle, a dog's body may undergo hormonal shifts as it returns to its normal state. These changes can sometimes result in behaviors or scents that might attract other dogs.
It's important to understand that these hormonal fluctuations are typically normal and not necessarily a sign of an infection like pyometra.
She’s still acting normal so all is well so far. Thank you! I didn’t know that could happen after that long but it does make sense. I’ll keep watch. Because my female was licking her too and that doesn’t usually happen ever lol. But they are still doing it occasionally but not as much as yesterday. Thanks again!

I'm glad to hear that your dog is still behaving normally.
Dogs can often be intrigued by each other's scents, particularly when there are slight hormonal changes involved. If this behavior persists or if you observe any new symptoms, continue to monitor her closely.
Should you have any more questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you!
He’s still showing interest but she hasn’t bled but also hasn’t showed any signs of sickness Are false pregnancies a thing? Would they attract males? Her nipples are bigger like she’s in heat but like I said it’s not time and no blood

Certainly! False pregnancies, or pseudopregnancies, are quite common in dogs. This condition occurs when a dog’s body undergoes hormonal changes similar to those of an actual pregnancy following a heat cycle, even though she isn’t pregnant. You might observe physical signs such as enlarged nipples or mammary glands, and sometimes behavioral changes like nesting.
These hormonal shifts can indeed attract male dogs, as they may detect the scent changes associated with these hormonal fluctuations. It’s a natural process and typically resolves on its own without any need for intervention.
Since your dog is behaving normally and isn’t showing any signs of illness, there’s likely no immediate cause for concern. Please keep an eye on her condition and symptoms.
