These changes can include increased appetite, weight gain, nesting behaviors, and sometimes a decrease in activity due to the extra weight they are carrying and hormonal changes.

Considering she is vaccinated against rabies and heartworm, and is on flea and tick prevention with collars, these are excellent steps in ensuring her overall health during pregnancy.

Arthritis can be exacerbated during pregnancy due to the increased weight putting additional strain on the joints. To help manage arthritis symptoms, ensure she has a comfortable place to rest that is warm and free from drafts. Avoid strenuous activity or rough play that could cause discomfort or injury.

Make sure fresh water is always available, and consider feeding smaller, more frequent meals to prevent discomfort from overeating.

If your dog shows any signs of difficulty giving birth, such as intense labor without puppy delivery for more than an hour, or if she passes more than a couple of hours between delivering puppies, this is an emergency, and she should be taken to a veterinary hospital.

If you notice any additional concerning symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of illness in your dog, it would be prudent to seek veterinary care promptly. It's always better to err on the side of caution, especially during pregnancy.
