It sounds like your cat is experiencing constipation, which can be quite uncomfortable for her. The presence of blood around her anus and in the litter box is concerning and suggests that she may be straining too hard or has an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.

Here are a few things you can try at home to help alleviate her constipation:

First, ensure she is drinking plenty of water. You can try adding a small amount of water or low-sodium broth to her food to increase her fluid intake. Hydration is key in helping to soften her stools.

Next, consider incorporating fiber into her diet. Canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) can be a good source of fiber and may help soften her stools. You can mix a small amount into her regular food.

Switching to wet cat food, if she is currently on dry food, can also be beneficial. Wet food has a higher moisture content, which can help with constipation.

Encouraging her to move around and play is another helpful strategy. Physical activity can stimulate bowel movements.

In some cases, over-the-counter remedies like Miralax can be used, but it's crucial to consult with a veterinarian for the correct dosage and to ensure it's safe for your cat.

Given the presence of blood and the ongoing issue, it is important to monitor her closely. If her condition does not improve within a day or two, or if she shows signs of severe discomfort, lethargy, or stops eating and drinking, I strongly recommend taking her to a veterinarian as soon as possible. Constipation can sometimes be a sign of a more serious underlying condition that needs professional treatment.
