Skin
Diarrhea

Hi, hope you're doing great doctor. I recently got my cat neutered on 7 August, on 8th august my cat smartly took his collar off and licked his neuter site and it got swollen. Now it's been 5th day since my cat got neutered, i wanted to ask you to make sure if his neuter site has healed completely so i can take his collar off.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. From the photo, it appears that the neuter site is still in the healing process. It's quite common for the area to be a bit swollen and for there to be some scabbing as it heals. However, it's crucial to ensure that the site does not show signs of infection, such as excessive redness, discharge, or a foul odor.

Since your cat managed to lick the site and it became swollen, I would recommend keeping the collar on for a bit longer to prevent any further irritation or infection. Typically, it takes about 10-14 days for a neuter site to heal completely. It would be a good idea to check with your veterinarian to confirm if the healing is on track and if it's safe to remove the collar.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the area for any signs of infection and try to prevent your cat from licking or scratching the site. If you notice any concerning changes, it would be best to consult your veterinarian for further advice.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
