I'm truly sorry to hear about your cat's condition. The symptoms you've described—severe weight loss, weakness, and lack of movement—are quite concerning and suggest a serious underlying health issue. While I understand that veterinary care can be expensive, your cat's symptoms are severe and require immediate attention.
In the meantime, there are a few things you can do to help:
Firstly, it's crucial to keep your cat hydrated. Continue giving electrolytes, but make sure you're administering them safely. Dehydration can be very dangerous, so maintaining proper hydration is essential.
For nutrition, try offering highly palatable, high-calorie foods such as kitten food, which is richer in nutrients. You might also find that warming up the food slightly makes it more appealing to your cat.
Ensure your cat is comfortable by keeping him in a warm, quiet, and stress-free environment. Make sure he has easy access to water and food to minimize any additional strain.
It's also important to closely monitor any changes in his condition, including his appetite, energy levels, and any new symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea.
Unfortunately, without professional veterinary care, diagnosing and treating the root cause of his symptoms is challenging. Severe weight loss and weakness can result from various issues, including parasites, infections, metabolic disorders, or even more serious conditions like organ failure.
I strongly recommend finding a way to get him to a veterinarian as soon as possible. You might consider reaching out to local animal shelters or rescue organizations, as they sometimes offer low-cost veterinary services. Additionally, veterinary schools may provide care at a reduced cost.
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
