I'm sorry to hear that your dog is experiencing these troubling symptoms. Pacing in a circular motion and swinging her head back and forth, especially at her age, can indeed be concerning. Coupled with vomiting, these behaviors could point to several potential issues.

One possibility is neurological problems. Conditions such as vestibular disease, which affects balance, or even more serious issues like brain tumors, can manifest with symptoms like head tilting, circling, and loss of balance.

Another consideration is pain or discomfort. Dogs sometimes pace and exhibit unusual behaviors when they are in pain, which could stem from arthritis, dental issues, or other internal discomforts.

Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS) is also a potential cause. Similar to dementia in humans, older dogs can develop CDS, leading to disorientation, pacing, and changes in behavior.

Additionally, exposure to certain toxins or infections can result in neurological symptoms and vomiting.

For now, try to keep her in a calm and quiet environment. Ensure she has a comfortable place to rest and monitor her closely. If she seems distressed, soothing her with gentle petting and a reassuring voice may help.

Given the severity and combination of her symptoms, it's crucial to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They can perform a thorough examination and possibly run diagnostic tests to determine the underlying cause and provide appropriate treatment.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
