Roommate's Dog and not my own. Showing strange behavior, above average drooling, excessive twitching in sleep, new aggression towards other animals.
It sounds like your roommate's dog is experiencing some concerning behaviors.
Firstly, the increased drooling could be due to several factors such as dental issues, nausea, or even stress. I recommend checking the dog's mouth for any signs of dental problems like red gums, broken teeth, or foreign objects. Make sure the dog has access to clean water and try to keep them as calm as possible.
Regarding the excessive twitching during sleep, this is often normal and related to dreaming. However, if the twitching seems excessive or is causing the dog distress, it could indicate a neurological issue or a reaction to something in their environment. Keep a close eye on the dog during sleep to see if the twitching subsides or worsens.
As for the new aggression towards other animals, sudden aggression can be a sign of pain, fear, or a change in the dog's environment or routine. Check the dog gently for any injuries or sore spots to ensure they are not in pain. Also, try to identify any recent changes in their environment that could be causing stress.
Since these symptoms have been ongoing for a few days but are not currently severe, it's important to monitor the dog closely. If any of these symptoms worsen or if new symptoms appear, it would be wise to seek veterinary attention to rule out any underlying health issues.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
