I just brought Mabel home today, she’s been here for 5 hours and hasn’t eaten, drank, or used the litter box.

When introducing a new kitten like Mabel to a new environment, especially if there's another pet involved, it's quite normal for her to feel a bit overwhelmed. This can sometimes lead to temporary changes in her behavior, such as not eating, drinking, or using the litter box. To help Mabel adjust more comfortably, there are a few steps you can take.
Firstly, consider setting up a quiet and comfortable space just for Mabel. This could be a small room or a cozy corner where she can feel safe, complete with her bed, food, water, and litter box. Familiar scents can also be comforting, so if you have any items from her previous environment, placing them in her space might help her feel more at home.
If you have another pet, it's best to introduce them gradually. Allow Mabel to explore her new surroundings at her own pace without any pressure. When it comes to encouraging her to eat and drink, offering some wet food can be more enticing than dry food. You might also try warming the food slightly to enhance its aroma, and always ensure she has fresh water available.
Keep an eye on her behavior for any signs of stress or illness. If she continues not to eat, drink, or use the litter box for more than 24 hours, it would be wise to consult a veterinarian to rule out any underlying health issues.
It's important to give her some time to adjust, but if her behavior doesn't improve or if she shows signs of illness, seeking veterinary advice would be the best course of action. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
