It sounds like your dog might have been experiencing an ear infection or possibly ear mites, which can lead to symptoms like redness, discharge, and head shaking. It's encouraging to hear that the redness has decreased, but the ongoing head shaking suggests there might still be some irritation or discomfort.

Here are a few steps you can take at home to help your dog:

Firstly, continue cleaning your dog's ears gently using a vet-approved ear cleaner. It's important to avoid anything too harsh, as this could further irritate the ear. Keep an eye out for any discharge or unusual odor, as these could indicate an ongoing infection.

Additionally, consider whether allergies might be a factor. Sometimes, ear issues are linked to allergies, so think about any recent changes in your dog's diet or environment that could have triggered a reaction.

Observe your dog's behavior closely. Look for signs of discomfort, such as scratching at the ears or tilting the head, which could suggest that the problem is persisting. Also, make sure your dog's ears remain dry, especially after baths or swimming, since moisture can worsen ear problems.

If the head shaking continues or you notice any new symptoms, it would be wise to consult a veterinarian. They can conduct a thorough examination and may prescribe medication to address any lingering issues.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
