It sounds like Dax has been through quite a bit recently, and his symptoms of persistent vomiting, loss of appetite, and severe itching are certainly concerning.

The vomiting could potentially be a reaction to the medications he is taking, especially if it began after starting them. While Omeprazole and Benadryl are generally safe, some dogs can experience adverse reactions. The bland diet you mentioned is a good initial step, but if Dax is unable to keep it down, it may be beneficial to try something different. Offering small amounts of boiled chicken and rice in very small, frequent meals might help.

The itching and swelling could be indicative of an ongoing allergic reaction. Since the Benadryl only provides short-term relief, it would be worthwhile to discuss with your veterinarian whether a different antihistamine or additional treatments might be more effective.

Given that Dax's symptoms have persisted and he is not showing signs of improvement, it is crucial to have him examined by a veterinarian again. Persistent vomiting and the inability to retain food can lead to dehydration and other complications, and the severe itching needs to be addressed to prevent further skin damage.
