Vomiting in dogs can stem from various causes, such as dietary indiscretion, infections, toxins, or more serious conditions like gastrointestinal obstructions. Given that your dog is experiencing bloody or black vomit along with a loss of appetite, this could indicate a more serious underlying issue, such as gastrointestinal bleeding or a severe infection.
First, temporarily withhold food for 12-24 hours to allow your dog's stomach to settle. However, make sure they have access to fresh water to prevent dehydration.
