Raisins can indeed be toxic to dogs and may lead to serious health issues, including kidney failure. Given that your dog has consumed oatmeal raisin cookies, it's crucial to act swiftly.

First, try to determine how many cookies she ate and how long ago she consumed them. Even a small quantity of raisins can be harmful, so it's important to monitor her closely for any signs of toxicity. Symptoms to watch for include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, and increased thirst or urination.

If it has been less than two hours since she ate the cookies, you might consider inducing vomiting to prevent further absorption of the toxins. This can be done by administering a small amount of hydrogen peroxide (1 teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight). However, only attempt this if you feel comfortable and confident in doing so.

Regardless of whether you induce vomiting, I strongly recommend taking her to a veterinarian immediately. Raisin toxicity is very serious, and prompt veterinary care is essential. The vet may administer activated charcoal to absorb any remaining toxins and provide supportive care, such as IV fluids, to help protect her kidneys.
