Noticing bright red blood in your dog's diarrhea can indeed be concerning, even if she seems to be acting normally otherwise. This could be due to various factors such as dietary indiscretion, parasites, infections, or even stress. Given that she has fleas, it's possible she might have ingested something while grooming that upset her stomach.

Here are a few steps you can take at home to help manage the situation:

First, consider withholding food for 12-24 hours to give her digestive system a rest. During this time, make sure she has access to fresh water to prevent dehydration. After the fasting period, you can introduce a bland diet, such as boiled chicken and rice, served in small, frequent meals.

It's also crucial to ensure she stays well-hydrated. Encourage her to drink plenty of water, and you might also offer an electrolyte solution like Pedialyte to help maintain her hydration levels.

Keep a close eye on her stool, noting any changes in color, consistency, or frequency. Additionally, watch for other symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy, or a decrease in appetite.

Since she has fleas, continue with her flea prevention treatments. Fleas can cause irritation and secondary infections, which might contribute to her symptoms.

However, the presence of bright red blood in her stool suggests there might be bleeding in the lower gastrointestinal tract. Even though she is acting normal now, this can quickly become serious. If the diarrhea persists, the amount of blood increases, or she starts showing other symptoms like vomiting, lethargy, or a decrease in appetite, I strongly recommend seeking veterinary care immediately. The vet can perform a thorough examination and possibly run tests to determine the underlying cause and provide appropriate treatment.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
