Luna has a cough has been lethargic she had a runny nose lack of appetite doesn't want to drink water been moving slowly and I found a few ticks on her recently and the last few weeks even though I give her a pill once a month she still was able to contract ticks
These signs could point to several potential issues, such as a respiratory infection like kennel cough, a tick-borne illness, or even a more generalized systemic infection.
Firstly, it's important to ensure Luna stays hydrated. You might find that adding a bit of low-sodium chicken broth to her water makes it more appealing. For her appetite, offering bland foods like boiled chicken and rice in small amounts could encourage her to eat.
Regarding the ticks, even though you are using monthly tick prevention, ticks can still occasionally attach. If you find any ticks, remove them using tweezers by grasping the tick close to the skin and pulling straight out. Be sure to clean the area with antiseptic afterward.
For her cough and runny nose, using a humidifier in the room where she spends most of her time can help. Alternatively, taking her into a steamy bathroom for a few minutes might ease her breathing.
It's also important to closely monitor her symptoms. If you notice any signs of worsening, such as increased lethargy, difficulty breathing, or if she stops eating and drinking entirely, these are indications that she needs immediate veterinary attention.
Given the severity and combination of her symptoms, seeking veterinary care as soon as possible is essential.
