Vomiting
Behavior
Lethargy

his throw up was yellow and green at one point. but now it’s white and foamy. i think it might be because of the ammonia in his litter, im trying harder to keep it clean
And this all started in the morning, he was showing normal, everyday-like behavior then he started throwing up more in small amounts in different places, and now he looks really sad and not showing a lot of energy, maybe because it’s night

Vomiting in cats can stem from various causes, such as dietary indiscretion, hairballs, infections, or even exposure to toxins. Given that your cat's vomit has changed from yellow and green to white and foamy, and considering the frequency and associated lethargy, it's essential to monitor him closely.

While the ammonia in the litter box could potentially irritate his respiratory system or cause stress, it's less likely to be the primary cause of vomiting. Here are a few steps you can take at home to help your cat:

Firstly, ensure your cat is not eating anything unusual or spoiled. Sometimes, a sudden change in diet can cause vomiting. You might want to stick to a bland diet for a day or two, such as boiled chicken and rice, to see if his stomach settles.

Secondly, make sure your cat stays hydrated. Vomiting can lead to dehydration, which can worsen lethargy. Offer fresh water frequently and consider using a pet water fountain to encourage drinking.

Additionally, keep the litter box clean and ensure your cat has a stress-free environment. Stress can sometimes lead to gastrointestinal upset.

It's also important to monitor for any additional symptoms like diarrhea, continued lethargy, or changes in behavior. These could indicate a more serious underlying issue.

Given that your cat has been vomiting multiple times a day and is now lethargic, it's crucial to keep a close watch on his condition. If the vomiting continues or if he shows no improvement in energy levels, it would be wise to seek veterinary care. Persistent vomiting and lethargy can be signs of more serious conditions that require professional attention.
