The inflamed lip could be due to several reasons, including an allergic reaction, an injury, or an infection. The lethargy might be a response to the stress of the new pet or could be related to the underlying cause of the lip inflammation.

Firstly, keep an eye on the inflamed area for any changes. If it worsens, becomes more swollen, or starts to discharge pus, it could indicate an infection that needs veterinary attention.

Additionally, make sure your cat is eating and drinking well. Sometimes, stress can reduce appetite, so offering their favorite foods might help.

If the inflamed lip seems dirty, you can gently clean it with a damp cloth. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or human medications.

Lastly, keep an eye on your cat’s behavior. If the lethargy persists or if you notice other symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or significant changes in eating or drinking habits, it’s important to consult a veterinarian.

Given that the symptoms have been ongoing for a few days and considering the visible inflammation on the lip, it would be a good idea to have your cat checked by a veterinarian to rule out any infections or other underlying conditions.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
