It sounds like your Chihuahua is facing a serious respiratory issue, which is understandably concerning. Symptoms such as difficulty breathing, coughing, pale gums, and excessive abdominal movement while trying to breathe can indicate several serious conditions. These might include a respiratory infection, heart disease, or even a blockage in the airway.
Given the severity of these symptoms, it is crucial to seek immediate veterinary care. Pale gums can be a sign of a lack of oxygen or poor circulation, which can become life-threatening if not addressed promptly. The coughing and difficulty breathing suggest there might be an obstruction or fluid in the lungs, necessitating professional evaluation and treatment.
I strongly recommend taking your dog to the nearest veterinary hospital or emergency clinic as soon as possible. There, they can provide the necessary diagnostics and treatment to help your dog breathe more comfortably and address the underlying issue.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
