So my turtle isn’t eating and is just lazing about in the water not eating just floating around and when I pick her up she won’t put her head in the shell and I just cleaned her shell off and she was active everytime I touched her shell

It sounds like your turtle is experiencing some concerning symptoms, such as lethargy, a lack of appetite, and abnormal swimming patterns. These signs can indicate several issues, including environmental stress, improper temperature, or even a respiratory infection, especially since sneezing has also been mentioned.
First, let's make sure that her habitat conditions are optimal. Turtles thrive in a warm environment, so it's important to check that the water temperature is maintained between 75-85°F (24-29°C) and that the basking area is around 90-95°F (32-35°C). Additionally, ensure that the UVB lighting is functioning properly, as this is crucial for their overall health.
Given that your turtle isn't eating, you might try offering a variety of foods to entice her. Consider live foods like small fish or worms, as well as leafy greens. Turtles can sometimes be picky, and offering a range of foods might stimulate her appetite.
The abnormal swimming patterns and lethargy could also suggest a respiratory infection, particularly with the sneezing. If you notice any nasal discharge or wheezing, it could be more serious. In such cases, it's important to monitor her closely. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a veterinarian who specializes in reptiles would be wise to obtain a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
For now, keep a close eye on her behavior and ensure her environment is optimal. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.
