Rapid breathing and lethargy can be signs of respiratory distress, pain, or systemic illness. Vomiting can be caused by a variety of factors including dietary indiscretion, infectious diseases, toxins, or gastrointestinal obstruction, among others.

Given the acute onset of these symptoms, it's important to ensure your dog stays hydrated. However, if he continues to vomit, offering water might not be helpful as it may induce more vomiting. Instead, remove his food and water for a few hours to allow his stomach to settle.

If the vomiting has ceased after a few hours, you can try offering a small amount of water first. If he keeps it down, you can gradually reintroduce a bland diet, such as boiled chicken and rice, in small, frequent meals.

Be alert for additional symptoms that may require immediate attention, such as continued vomiting, diarrhea, signs of pain (whining, restlessness, or reluctance to move), pale or blue-tinged gums, difficulty breathing, or collapse. These signs could indicate a more serious condition that warrants urgent medical care.

If he does not improve or if his condition worsens, it's crucial to seek professional care immediately. Remember, young dogs can deteriorate quickly, so prompt attention is essential for their well-being.
