Woo has been limping (left hind leg) and is very slow moving. She is very reluctant to get up onto the bed. She seems to be eating, drinking and sleeping normally.
Limping in cats can arise from various causes, such as minor injuries, arthritis, or even something lodged in the paw. Given that Woo is eating, drinking, and sleeping normally, it suggests that the issue might not be immediately severe. However, it's still crucial to monitor her closely.
First, inspect Woo's painful area. Check her joints and bones(especially the patellar) If Woo's joints are swollen and hot, it can be a ligament injury or a fracture. In this case, you should visit a nearby vet for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
If there is no abnormality in the range of joint movement of her, and there is no doubt of a fracture, it may be a simple sprain.
For the first two to three days, massage the area with an ice pack, and if the symptoms improve, massage the joints or muscles with a warm towel afterward.
Next, encourage Woo to rest and limit her jumping or climbing activities.
If Woo's limping doesn't improve in a few days or if it gets worse, taking her to a vet would be wise. They can perform a thorough examination and possibly take X-rays to determine the cause of her limping.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
