He isn’t putting any weight on his right hind leg, but I can touch it just fine. I can poke and prod at it and he doesn’t whine. but when I try and lift his foot when he’s laying down, he whines.

It seems like your dog might be experiencing some discomfort or pain in his right hind leg, even though he's not showing obvious signs when you touch it. The fact that he whines when you lift his foot could suggest a strain, sprain, or possibly a minor injury that isn't immediately apparent. Here are a few steps you might consider taking:

Firstly, it's important to limit his activity for a few days. Try to prevent him from jumping or running, as these actions could potentially worsen any existing injury. During this time, keep a close eye on any swelling, redness, or changes in how he holds his leg. These could be indicators of a more serious issue.

Make sure he has a comfortable place to rest, perhaps with a soft bed or blanket to provide additional support. If his condition doesn't improve within a few days, or if it seems to worsen, it would be wise to consult a veterinarian to rule out any underlying problems.

Since he's not showing severe pain or distress, monitoring him for a few more days is reasonable. However, if you notice any changes in his behavior, appetite, or if he begins to show signs of significant pain, a visit to the vet would be advisable.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
