It sounds like your cat is going through some behavioral changes, which could be influenced by hormones, especially if he hasn't been neutered. Unneutered male cats often exhibit increased vocalization and humping behavior due to sexual frustration or territorial instincts. Here are a few suggestions that might help:
Firstly, if your cat is not neutered, this procedure could significantly reduce these behaviors. Neutering often helps decrease sexual frustration and territorial aggression.
Additionally, providing environmental enrichment can be very beneficial. Ensure your cat has plenty of toys and activities to keep him engaged and distracted. Interactive toys, puzzle feeders, and regular playtime can make a big difference.
Maintaining a routine and structure is also important, as cats thrive on consistency. Try to keep a regular schedule for feeding, playtime, and outdoor access to help minimize stress and anxiety.
You might also consider using calming aids, such as pheromone diffusers or sprays, which can create a more soothing environment for your cat.
Lastly, it's important to monitor for any other changes in behavior or health. If you notice any signs of illness or if the behavior becomes more aggressive, consulting with a veterinarian would be a good step.
If these behaviors persist or worsen, discussing them with a veterinarian can help rule out any underlying health issues. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. Thank you.
