So lately, when i've picked up storm every single time she'll growl more often than not she'll growl when my mom picks her up which isn't something she used to do but usually it's if my mom is holding her by her stomach

It sounds like Storm is expressing some discomfort when you pick her up, especially when held by her stomach. This could be due to a few reasons. At her age, she might be experiencing some sensitivity or discomfort in her abdomen, or she might simply not like being held that way. Cats often have preferences for how they are handled, and certain positions might make them feel insecure or uncomfortable.
Here are a few suggestions you might find helpful:
Firstly, when picking up Storm, try supporting her chest and hindquarters instead of her stomach. This technique can help her feel more secure and less vulnerable. Additionally, pay close attention to any signs of pain or discomfort, such as flinching or avoiding being touched in certain areas. If you notice any signs of pain, it would be wise to monitor her closely.
Encouraging positive associations with being picked up can also be beneficial. You might try offering treats or gentle petting when she is calm and relaxed in your arms. Furthermore, ensure that her environment is calm and stress-free, as changes in her surroundings or routine can sometimes lead to stress and behavioral changes.
If Storm continues to growl or shows other signs of distress, it would be a good idea to observe her for any additional symptoms or changes in behavior. Should her behavior not improve or if you notice any other concerning signs, consulting a veterinarian to rule out any underlying issues would be advisable.
