CONTEXT: last summer, there was an unknown disease going around and the symptoms consisted of foaming at the mouth the back of the hair oily not smooth and they were panting like they couldn’t get enough air and they were lethargic So I kept them all inside after my last two pets passed away.
MOCHI: mochi is an indoor cat. He has never been outside except for the one time he escaped outside, but I immediately put him back inside. he was maybe only out there for at least two minutes though I do have other pets that are indoor and outdoors. His fur on his back looks oily and not smooth and he’s been sleeping nonstop. Doesn’t really want to eat and he looks very ill.

I'm really sorry to hear that Mochi is feeling unwell. The symptoms are indeed concerning and could indicate a serious underlying issue. Given the history of an unknown disease affecting your other pets, it's crucial to act promptly.

The oily fur and lethargy could be signs of various conditions, including infections, metabolic disorders, or even poisoning. The fact that Mochi is not eating and appears very ill further emphasizes the need for immediate veterinary attention.

It's important to monitor his symptoms closely, keeping an eye out for any additional signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in breathing. While it's essential to encourage him to drink water, please don't force it if he's not interested.

Cats tend to hide their problems. If you can see their lethargy, it is not a good sign. Therefore, you require to go to a veterinary hospital with Mochi.

Given the severity of the symptoms and the potential for a serious condition, I strongly recommend taking Mochi to a veterinarian as soon as possible for a thorough examination and appropriate treatment.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
