Skin

I wasn’t home with him for 2 days (which is okay because I don’t need to feed him everyday anymore) I came back today and seen a pale spot on his nose in between his nostrils.

The pale spot you've noticed on your gecko's nose could be due to a variety of reasons. It's important to consider factors such as changes in the environment, potential contact with abrasive surfaces, or even nutritional deficiencies that could lead to changes in skin coloration.

Firstly, evaluate the enclosure to ensure there are no rough surfaces or objects that your gecko may have rubbed its nose against, leading to a loss of pigmentation or mild abrasion. Geckos can sometimes exhibit this behavior when they are shedding, as they try to remove old skin.

Secondly, consider the humidity and temperature within the habitat. Improper conditions can lead to skin issues, including problems with shedding which might cause discoloration or pale patches. Ensure that the environment is well-regulated according to the specific needs of your gecko species.

Nutrition is also a key factor in skin health. A balanced diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals is crucial. If your gecko's diet has been lacking in variety or you haven't supplemented with calcium and vitamins, this could potentially lead to skin and health issues.

In the meantime, keep the habitat clean and monitor the spot for any changes. If the pale area seems to be growing, changing in texture, or if your gecko shows signs of discomfort, irritation, or unusual behavior, these could be signs of infection or a more serious dermatological condition.

If the pale spot is accompanied by other concerning symptoms such as lethargy, loss of appetite, or noticeable changes in behavior, it would be wise to seek professional help. While you've mentioned there are no other current issues, it's important to remain vigilant for any new signs that may arise.

Remember to ensure that your gecko has access to clean water and is being fed a diet appropriate for its species, including any necessary supplements. Also, observe if the pale spot changes after the gecko's next shedding cycle, as it might simply be a temporary change related to the natural shedding process.
