Isabella is constantly itching at her ears and her paws and I don’t know what’s wrong she’s crying constantly like she’s in pain and I need help figuring it out I went to the vet multiple times and they only ever give her ear wash and it doesn’t help her
It sounds like Isabella is experiencing significant discomfort, and the symptoms you're describing—itching, head shaking, redness, sensitivity, and swelling—are consistent with a severe ear infection. The photos you provided show signs of inflammation and possible infection.
Given that the ear cleanser hasn't been effective and she's also experiencing other issues like loss of appetite, weight loss, and skin itching, it's crucial to address this comprehensively. Here are some steps you can take:
First, it's important to revisit the vet since the current treatment isn't helping. Discuss the ongoing issues and ask about the possibility of a more thorough examination, including ear swabs to identify the specific type of infection, whether it be bacterial, fungal, or mites.
In addition to ear cleansers, your vet might prescribe topical antibiotics, antifungal medications, or anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce swelling and pain. Oral medications might also be necessary if the infection is severe.
Consider discussing with your vet the possibility of food allergies or environmental allergens contributing to her symptoms. A hypoallergenic diet or limited ingredient diet might help if allergies are a factor.
For the itching and skin issues, using a medicated shampoo specifically designed for dogs with skin conditions might provide some relief. Ensure that any products used are vet-approved.
Since Isabella is crying and seems to be in pain, pain relief medications might be necessary. Discuss this with your vet to ensure she gets the appropriate medication.
Continue using flea and tick prevention, but ensure the product is suitable for dogs with sensitive skin. Sometimes, switching to a different type of preventive measure can help if the current one is causing irritation.
It's essential to address these issues promptly to prevent further complications and ensure Isabella's comfort. If you have any further questions, please ask us. Thank you.
