I'm really sorry to hear about your kitten's condition. When a cat suddenly starts walking as if they are drunk and loses their appetite, it can be quite concerning. There are several potential causes for these symptoms, including ear infections, neurological issues, toxins, or even metabolic disorders.

Given that she is still drinking water but not eating, and her symptoms seem to be worsening, it's important to monitor her closely. Here are a few steps you can take at home:

First, ensure she hasn't ingested anything toxic. Common household items like certain plants, cleaning agents, or human medications can be harmful to cats. Next, look inside her ears for any signs of redness, swelling, or discharge, which could indicate an ear infection. Ear infections can affect balance and coordination.

Since she is drinking water, continue to encourage her to stay hydrated, as dehydration can worsen her condition. Keep her in a quiet, safe space where she can't hurt herself by falling or bumping into things, and limit her movement to prevent further injury. Even if she doesn't feel like she has a fever, it's good to monitor her temperature. A normal cat's temperature ranges from 100.5°F to 102.5°F. If it's outside this range, it could indicate an infection or other issue.

Unfortunately, these symptoms can indicate a serious underlying condition that requires professional veterinary care. While I understand financial constraints can be challenging, many veterinary clinics offer payment plans or can guide you to local animal welfare organizations that might assist with costs.

Her symptoms suggest a potentially serious issue that needs to be addressed promptly. If her condition continues to deteriorate, seeking veterinary care is crucial to ensure she gets the appropriate treatment.

If you have any further questions, please ask us. Thank you.
