My Toby was a perfectly healthy 2 yr old male a week ago. Then he started sneezing. Like a he had a kitty cold setting in. He's an indoor/outdoor cat and sometimes he goes out and it may be a day or 3 before he comes back home.
His condition rapidly worsened to an extremely severe upper respiratory tract infection that has really put him down. He can barely breathe.
I've been making life as easy for him as I can, and thought he was improving a little. Then earlier today he had a terribly violent sneezing fit resulting in him sneezing blood from his nose. Which really scared me.
His appetite and thirst are good though

I'm truly sorry to hear about Toby's condition. It sounds like he's dealing with a severe upper respiratory infection, which can be quite serious, especially if he's having difficulty breathing and sneezing blood. The presence of blood in his sneezes is particularly concerning, as it suggests there might be significant irritation or damage in his nasal passages.

Given the severity of his symptoms, it's crucial that you seek immediate veterinary care. Cats with severe respiratory infections can deteriorate quickly, and Toby may require specific treatments such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, or even supportive care like oxygen therapy to help him breathe more easily.

In the meantime, you can try to keep him comfortable by ensuring he's in a warm, humid environment. Using a humidifier can help ease his breathing by keeping the air moist. It's also important to encourage him to eat and drink, as maintaining hydration and nutrition is vital.

Please make sure to take Toby to a veterinarian as soon as possible to get the appropriate care he needs. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
