Doberman Mom has litter of 9 mixed pups. Her utters got very swollen and she started to reject the puppies. They are being bottle fed now but they have pale gums and mucousy loose stool

It sounds like the mother dog might be dealing with mastitis, which is an inflammation of the mammary glands. This condition can cause significant swelling and discomfort, potentially leading her to reject her puppies. Mastitis can be quite painful and may require medical attention to prevent further complications.
Regarding the puppies, the symptoms of pale gums and mucousy loose stools are concerning. Pale gums can suggest anemia or poor circulation, possibly due to inadequate nutrition or an underlying health issue. Meanwhile, mucousy stools might indicate gastrointestinal upset or infection, perhaps due to the transition from mother's milk to bottle feeding.
Here are a few steps you can take:
For the mother dog, ensure she is comfortable and keep an eye out for any signs of fever or additional swelling. Sometimes, warm compresses can help alleviate her discomfort. However, if the swelling persists or she appears to be in pain, it's important to seek veterinary care, as she may require antibiotics or other treatments.
For the puppies, make sure they are being fed a high-quality puppy milk replacer and that they are feeding regularly. Keep them warm and monitor their weight gain. If their condition doesn't improve or if they seem lethargic, it's crucial to have them evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to rule out any serious conditions.
Given the symptoms you're observing, especially with the puppies' pale gums and loose stools, I strongly recommend visiting a veterinarian promptly. These signs can indicate serious health issues that require immediate attention to ensure the well-being of both the mother and her puppies.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
