It's completely understandable to feel concerned when you notice blood in your kitten's stool, especially after bringing him home. There are a few potential reasons for this occurrence.

Firstly, the stress of moving to a new environment can sometimes lead to minor digestive issues in kittens, which might result in a small amount of blood in their stool. Additionally, even if you're feeding him the same food as the shelter, the transition itself can occasionally cause digestive upset.

Another possibility to consider is intestinal parasites, as kittens are often susceptible to them, and these can lead to blood in the stool. I would recommend having a fecal exam done to rule this out. Although less common, infections or inflammation could also be contributing factors.

At home, it's important to ensure your kitten is eating and drinking well while you monitor his behavior. If he appears lethargic, experiences diarrhea, or if the blood in the stool persists or increases, it would be wise to consult a veterinarian. They can perform a thorough examination and possibly run some tests to determine the cause.

In the meantime, try to maintain a calm and stable environment to help reduce any stress your kitten might be experiencing. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.
