Kitten suddenly wakes from a nap with lack of balance and coordination. Nodding out as if extremely tired. No energy. Whites of eyes are out when I make him look at me. Otherwise he just sleeps and is almost limp. His pupils are dilated. I took him to the food bowl and although his coordination was bad he was eating like a horse. No loss of appetite. He's just very fatigued and swaying/falling when I try to get him to walk.
These signs can indicate several serious conditions, including neurological issues, poisoning, or severe infections.
Given the severity of these symptoms, it's crucial to act quickly.
First, avoid any loud noises or sudden movements that could further stress him.
Next, keep an eye out for any additional symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in breathing. These can provide more clues about what might be going on.
It's also important to check for any potential toxins or harmful substances that your kitten could have ingested. Common household items like certain plants, chemicals, or even human medications can be very dangerous.
Since your kitten is still eating, continue to offer food and water. However, be cautious and ensure he doesn't choke or struggle too much while eating.
The symptoms you described, especially the lack of coordination, extreme fatigue, and dilated pupils, are serious and warrant immediate veterinary attention. These could be signs of a neurological issue or poisoning, both of which require prompt medical intervention.
Please take your kitten to a veterinarian as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial in such cases to ensure the best possible outcome for your kitten.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
