Getting sprayed by a skunk is certainly unpleasant, but it’s usually not an emergency. The primary concerns are the strong odor and potential irritation to your pet’s eyes and skin. Here are a few steps you can take to manage the situation until you can give her a proper bath in the morning:

First, ensure your home is well-ventilated to help dissipate the smell. Next, use a damp cloth to gently wipe down her fur, especially around her face and eyes, to remove some of the skunk spray. If she appears to have irritation in her eyes, you can gently flush them with saline solution or clean water. Additionally, it’s a good idea to keep her in a contained area to prevent the smell from spreading throughout your home.

In the morning, you can bathe her with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap, which is effective in neutralizing the skunk odor. To prepare this mixture, combine 1 quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of dish soap. Apply it to her fur, being careful to avoid her eyes, let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
