Blessed got a microchip and I believe it has moved to her armpit area/ rib cage
The microchip, typically inserted between the shoulder blades, can migrate under the skin over time due to normal movement or the way the body responds to the chip.
This movement usually isn’t harmful, but it’s important to ensure that it hasn’t caused any discomfort or other issues.
Gently feel the area where you think the microchip has moved. If Blessed shows signs of pain, such as yelping, pulling away, or if the area feels swollen or warm to the touch, this could indicate irritation or inflammation. If the skin appears red or if there’s any sign of infection, that’s a concern.
If Blessed shows signs of significant discomfort, pain, or if the area around the microchip becomes severely swollen or infected, it would be wise to seek veterinary care promptly. Additionally, if she suddenly starts to limp, has difficulty moving her leg, or you notice any unusual lumps growing around the area, these could be signs that require immediate attention.
Microchip migration isn’t usually an emergency, but keeping an eye on Blessed and making sure she’s comfortable is key. If you ever notice anything out of the ordinary, it's always better to be cautious and get her checked out.
