Dozers he is a 12 yr old Labrador retriever mix and his ear has been swelling up and spitting out blood but its constant and taking constant ear care and we honestly don't know what to do because we just moved to Pennsylvania and we're really scared about this cause this is new

I'm sorry to hear that Dozer is experiencing these issues with his ear. Swelling and discharge of blood and oil can be quite concerning and may indicate a serious underlying condition.
It can be caused by ear Infection, ear Hematoma, foreign Body, tumors or Polyps, etc. The exact cause can only be determined by examination.
At home, gently clean the outer part of the ear with a damp cloth. Be careful not to insert anything into the ear canal. Applying a warm compress to the swollen area can help reduce swelling and provide some relief.
And keep an eye out for additional symptoms such as head shaking, scratching, or changes in behavior.
However, given the severity of Dozer's symptoms, it is crucial to have him examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. These signs can indicate a serious infection or other condition that requires medical treatment.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.

The cost of a veterinary appointment can indeed vary significantly based on factors such as your location, the specific clinic you choose, and the extent of the examination and treatments required.
Typically, a basic consultation fee ranges from $50 to $100. However, if additional diagnostics like ear swabs, cultures, or imaging are necessary, the costs can increase accordingly.
