I only just rescued this kitten so I’m not sure of anything
Firstly, congratulations on rescuing a kitten! At one month old, your kitten is very young and will require careful attention to ensure he remains healthy.
Ensure you are feeding him a high-quality kitten formula that provides all the necessary nutrients for growth. Kittens should eat about four times a day.
Hydration is also key, so keep fresh water accessible at all times. Kittens can be prone to dehydration, which can be serious. If you notice your kitten is not drinking water or has a decreased appetite, it's important to address this quickly.
Without vaccinations, your kitten is at risk for various infectious diseases. Keep him indoors and away from other unvaccinated animals to minimize this risk. Once he is old enough, usually starting around 6-8 weeks of age, he should begin his vaccination series.
Flea and tick prevention is also important, even for indoor cats, as these parasites can be brought into the home on clothing or other pets.
Since he's not been treated for any medical conditions, watch for signs of illness such as lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, or respiratory issues like coughing or sneezing. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's important to address them promptly.
In terms of immediate care, make sure your kitten has a warm, safe space to rest. Kittens can get cold easily, so a cozy bed away from drafts is ideal. Also, ensure he has a litter box with non-clumping litter, as kittens can sometimes ingest clumping litter, leading to intestinal blockages.
