Skin

Hi there! I noticed a brown spot on my cats head the other day and was wondering what it could be, it doesn’t feel like it’s a raised bump or lump. It was flat but I just wanted to see if it’s just a freckle/mole or if it seems like it should be checked out. I hope someone can help!

It's completely understandable to be concerned about any new spots on your cat's skin. The brown spot on your cat's head could be due to various reasons. It might be something harmless, like a freckle or mole, but it could also indicate a condition that needs attention, such as a fungal infection, an allergic reaction, or even a more serious skin issue.

Since the spot is flat and not raised, it might not be an immediate cause for alarm. However, it's important to monitor it closely. Pay attention to any changes in size, color, or texture, and watch for signs of irritation or discomfort in your cat, such as scratching or excessive grooming of the area.

Given that the spot has been present for a couple of days, I recommend having it checked by a veterinarian. They can perform a thorough examination and possibly some tests to determine the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment if necessary.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the spot and try to prevent your cat from scratching it to avoid any potential infection or irritation.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
