My dog has a small swelling on his gum between his front incisor teeth. I noticed today when I was brushing his teeth. I do it everyday and didn’t see it yesterday. He’s not bothered by it and is eating, drinking and acting normal

It's reassuring to hear that your dog isn't bothered by the swelling and is acting normally. The small swelling on the gum could be due to several reasons, such as minor trauma, a small infection, or even a benign growth like a gum boil or cyst. Given that you brush your dog's teeth daily and didn't notice it yesterday, it seems to have appeared quite recently.

Please watch for other symptoms such as pain, difficulty eating, drooling, or bad breath. These could indicate a more serious issue.

Lastly, ensure your dog has appropriate chew toys that are not too hard, as hard objects can sometimes cause trauma to the gums.

If the swelling persists for more than a few days, or if you notice any of the concerning symptoms mentioned earlier, it would be wise to have your veterinarian take a closer look to rule out any underlying issues.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
