He ran outside all day yesterday and also swam in the river. When he came back, his eyes were red and swollen and he’s been very tired since. His mouth also seems like it might be a little swollen also.

It sounds like your dog might be experiencing an allergic reaction or an eye infection, especially given the redness, swelling, tearing, and other symptoms you've described. Running outside and swimming in the river could have exposed him to various allergens or irritants.

For now, try to keep him calm and comfortable. You can gently clean any discharge from his eyes with a warm, wet cloth. It's important to avoid using any medications or ointments without consulting a veterinarian, as these could potentially harm your dog if used improperly. Additionally, applying a cold compress to the swollen areas may help reduce inflammation.

Given the combination of eye symptoms, lethargy, and possible swelling around his mouth, it would be best to have him examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. These symptoms could indicate a more serious condition that requires professional treatment.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
