The swelling and holding the eye closed could indicate conjunctivitis or another type of eye infection. This can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or even an injury. The white appearance in the eyes might be due to discharge or inflammation. Given the vomiting and loss of appetite, it’s possible that Sylvester might be dealing with a systemic infection or another underlying health issue.

First, gently clean the eye with a sterile saline solution to remove any discharge. It's important to avoid using any over-the-counter eye drops unless they have been prescribed by a veterinarian.

Second, ensure Sylvester stays hydrated by offering small amounts of water frequently.

Third, try offering a bland diet like boiled chicken or a special kitten formula to entice him to eat. Sometimes warming the food slightly can make it more appealing.

And, even if cats do not eat for at least 48 hours, they will develop fatal liver damage (hepatic lipidosis). Especially since he is young, not eating can be even more devastating.

Given the combination of symptoms and the fact that they have persisted, it’s crucial to have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. The vet can perform a thorough examination, possibly including an eye examination, blood tests, and other diagnostics to determine the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment.
