Her ear right here is very sensitive, head shaking and sensitive to the touch. Brown discharge, smells like yeast. Ongoing for a couple days could be from her swimming in pool.

It sounds like your Labrador Retriever is dealing with a significant ear infection, likely made worse by her swimming activities. The symptoms you're describing—excessive discharge, a bad smell, redness, itching, and head shaking—are classic indicators of an ear infection, often caused by bacteria or yeast.

Here are a few steps you can take at home to help alleviate her discomfort:

First, gently clean her ears using a dog-specific ear cleaner. Be careful not to use cotton swabs, as they can push debris further into the ear canal. Instead, use a cotton ball or a soft cloth to wipe away any discharge.

Next, it's important to keep her ears dry, especially after swimming. Use a soft towel to gently dry her ears thoroughly after any water exposure.

Applying a warm, damp cloth to her ear can also help soothe discomfort and loosen any discharge.

Additionally, monitor her for any other symptoms, such as vomiting or changes in behavior, which you mentioned. These could indicate a more systemic issue.

Given the severity of her symptoms and the ongoing nature of the issue, it's crucial to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Ear infections can worsen quickly and lead to more serious complications if not treated promptly. The vet will likely clean her ears thoroughly and may prescribe topical or oral medications to address the infection.
