Kenzie

This morning she had diarrhea, and she seemed relatively fine. When I got home my mom noticed her stomach was distended/bloated, but her stool had solidified, she was going poop (more than normal) and she has been eating, drinking and acting normal. She still has an enlarged stomach and is panting/slightly restless.

It sounds like your dog is experiencing some concerning symptoms, such as a distended or bloated stomach, restlessness, and panting. These signs could potentially indicate a condition known as gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), or bloat, which is quite serious. GDV occurs when the stomach twists on itself, trapping gas and cutting off its blood supply, and it can be life-threatening.

Given what you're observing, it's crucial to seek immediate veterinary attention. GDV can progress very quickly, and urgent medical intervention is necessary to prevent severe complications or even a fatal outcome.

While you're waiting to see the veterinarian, try to keep your dog as calm as possible and avoid any physical activity, as this could make the condition worse. It's also important not to attempt any home remedies or induce vomiting, as these actions could exacerbate the situation.

Please take your dog to a veterinarian as soon as possible to ensure she receives the necessary care. If you have any further questions or need more information, feel free to ask. Thank you for reaching out.
