My dog did eventually eat last night but I’m still stressed about the biopsy results. There’s no way I can wait for 10-14 or more days. What signs would the lump showed me that is was cancer. My vet wasn’t worried about the lump until she didn’t see anything concerning under the microscope and recommended removal. He never messed with it, it didn’t grow much, it was under the skin covered by his fur and appeared the same color as his skin. Never bled or oozed. I’m so stressed. I’m also worried he will have a permanent scar and everyone will see he had surgery. Is that true? Will his fur grow back normal? This is so stressful

It's completely understandable to feel stressed while waiting for biopsy results. The fact that your vet didn't see anything concerning under the microscope is a positive sign. Lumps can be caused by a variety of factors, including benign growths like lipomas or cysts, which are common and not harmful. Cancerous lumps might show signs like rapid growth, changes in color, bleeding, or oozing, but since your dog's lump didn't exhibit these symptoms, it may not be cancerous.
Regarding the scar, it's normal to worry about the appearance after surgery. Most dogs' fur will grow back over the surgical site, and in many cases, the scar becomes less noticeable over time. The fur may take a few weeks to a few months to fully regrow, depending on your dog's coat type. Keeping the area clean and following your vet's post-operative care instructions will help ensure proper healing.
Try to focus on the positive aspects, like the fact that your dog is eating and behaving normally. If you have any further questions or need reassurance, don't hesitate to reach out to your vet for support. They can provide more specific guidance based on your dog's individual case.
