He's shown, signs and it comes & goes but it's been getting worse and I'd like to do something before it's gets worse should I bring him into the vet or should I clean it myself?
These signs can often indicate an ear infection or ear mites, both of which require prompt attention.
From the photos you provided, there appears to be some redness and discharge in the ear, which can indeed suggest an infection or the presence of ear mites. Since you've been using ear cleansers and wipes for 14 days without seeing any improvement, it might be time to consider a more thorough approach.
Firstly, continue using the ear cleanser and wipes as directed to keep the ears clean. Be gentle during this process to avoid causing further irritation.
Secondly, monitor your kitten for any additional symptoms such as a foul odor, increased redness, or swelling. These can indicate that the condition is worsening.
However, given that the symptoms have been ongoing and seem to be getting worse, it's important to consult a veterinarian. A vet can perform a thorough examination, which may include an ear swab to determine if there are mites, bacteria, or yeast causing the issue. They may prescribe specific medications such as antibiotics, antifungals, or anti-parasitic treatments that are more effective than over-the-counter options.
Addressing this promptly is crucial to prevent further complications and ensure your kitten's comfort and health. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
