Sassys arthritis has become aggressive and day by day her back legs hurt her and don’t move more and more. I don’t want her to suffer but I don’t want to put her down if something can be done

I'm sorry to hear that Sassy is experiencing increased discomfort due to her arthritis. Arthritis can be quite challenging for older dogs, particularly in breeds like Boxers. Here are some steps you can take to help manage her condition at home:
First, it's important to ensure that Sassy has a soft, comfortable bed that supports her joints. Orthopedic beds can be especially beneficial for this purpose. Additionally, engaging her in gentle, low-impact exercise can help maintain her mobility and muscle strength. Short, slow walks are ideal, and it's best to avoid any strenuous activities.
Keeping Sassy at a healthy weight is also crucial, as it can reduce stress on her joints. If she is overweight, you might consider adjusting her diet with guidance from your veterinarian. Warm compresses can be soothing for her aching joints, and gentle massages may help improve circulation and reduce stiffness.
You might also explore joint supplements containing glucosamine and chondroitin, as they may provide some relief. Omega-3 fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and could be beneficial as well. If Sassy is experiencing significant pain, there are medications available that can help manage her discomfort. It's important to consult with your veterinarian to discuss appropriate pain relief options.
While these steps can help manage her symptoms, it's crucial to monitor her condition closely. If her mobility continues to decline or if she seems to be in significant pain, it might be time to have a conversation with your veterinarian about her quality of life and any additional treatments that might be available.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. Thank you.
