My cat had gotten into a cat fight and he started out with a wound in his tail it started to get bigger. I took him to the veterinary and they put him an infection shot now his tail is stiff and black and it’s watery with pus. Will his tail fall off or will it cure by itself?

I'm sorry to hear about your cat's condition. The symptoms you're describing, such as the stiffness, black coloration, and presence of pus on the tail, are quite concerning and suggest a severe infection or possibly necrosis, which is tissue death.
It's really important to have your cat re-evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will need to assess the extent of the damage and decide if further treatment, like antibiotics or even surgery, is necessary. In some situations, if the tissue is too damaged, part of the tail might need to be amputated to prevent the infection from spreading.
While you're waiting for veterinary care, try to keep the affected area clean and prevent your cat from licking or biting at the wound. You can gently clean it with a saline solution, but please avoid using any harsh chemicals or ointments unless advised by your vet.
Please make sure to seek veterinary care promptly to ensure the best outcome for your cat. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Thank you.
