So my grandma got me this puppy about a week ago, right after I had a miscarriage. He's 8 or 9 weeks old. He hasn't had his shots or been wormed. One of his litter mates just died from not being wormed. My friend gave me wormer yesterday, the chewable kind. I gave him 1/4 of a tablet. Nothing happened. He's so bloated and miserable. He hasn't even pooped all day!! Yesterday he threw up and there was just a tiny bit of bloody stuff in it. Almost unnoticeable. But now I don't know if I should give him more wormer or what I need to do!! Please help me

I'm truly sorry to hear about your recent loss and the concerns you're facing with your new puppy. The symptoms you're describing, such as bloating, vomiting with traces of blood, and the lack of a bowel movement, are quite serious and need immediate attention. These could indicate a severe condition, especially in a young puppy that hasn't been properly vaccinated or dewormed.

The bloating and vomiting might be due to a heavy worm infestation, but they could also suggest other serious issues like a gastrointestinal blockage or an infection. The presence of blood in the vomit is particularly alarming and should be addressed without delay.

It's crucial not to give any more wormer or medications without consulting a professional, as this might worsen the situation. I strongly advise you to take your puppy to a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will be able to conduct a thorough examination, possibly run some tests, and provide the necessary treatment to ensure your puppy's health and safety.

In the meantime, try to keep your puppy comfortable and hydrated, but refrain from giving any food or additional medications until you've spoken with a vet.

If you have any further questions or need more assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
