Good morning. I just have a quick question. LJ gets her allercept injection on Sundays at 2am. She gets hydroxyzine at 4am and 4pm. Is it safe to give her the hydroxyzine today 2 hours after her injection or should I give it to her later? Thanks for your time!!

Good morning! It's wonderful to see that you're diligently managing LJ's medication schedule. Allercept injections and hydroxyzine are commonly used together to control allergic reactions and itching in cats. Typically, there shouldn't be any significant interactions between these two medications that would necessitate delaying the hydroxyzine dose.

Given that LJ has been experiencing excessive itching in multiple areas, it's important to ensure her symptoms are well-managed. Administering the hydroxyzine two hours after the Allercept injection should be safe. This timing allows both medications to work effectively without interfering with each other.

However, if you observe any unusual reactions or if her itching worsens, it would be best to consult your veterinarian immediately. They can offer specific guidance based on LJ's medical history and current condition.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
