My cat just gave birth to 3 still born kittens 2 yesterday and one today I believe she’s done but how would I exactly know she’s done and she’s okay?
I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of the kittens. It's very important to ensure that your cat is doing well after giving birth. Here are some signs that she might still have kittens inside or could be experiencing complications:
Firstly, if she is still having contractions or appears to be straining, it might indicate that she hasn't finished giving birth. Additionally, while a small amount of discharge is normal, you should be concerned if it is foul-smelling, green, or continues for more than a few days, as this could signal an infection or a retained placenta.
Behavioral changes are also important to monitor. If your cat seems lethargic, refuses to eat, or is excessively panting, these could be signs of distress or an infection. Lastly, if her abdomen still appears swollen or you can feel lumps, she may still have kittens inside.
Given that she has already given birth to stillborn kittens and there is a potential for complications, it is crucial to have her examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. A vet can perform an ultrasound or X-ray to ensure there are no remaining kittens and check for any signs of infection or other issues.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
